TU GUIA, La Paz, Sunday, April 7, 2002 After a couple of years of absence on the Bolivia stages, the young talented members of the Leyenda Group are going to meet the audience of La Paz at the only concert that is going to be performed this Wednesday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Modesta Sanjinés Theater in Municipal Culture Center "Franz Tamayo". The Leyenda is going to perform their new disc that consists of 16 author's songs by the members of the group. The members are: Carlos Luna (guitar), Silvano Mariaca (charango and singing), Ramiro Escóbar (flutes) y Gerardo Luna (bass). Silvano Mariaca for Tu Guia newspapers: "The album is the unique combination of modern music with folk instruments as quena, charango and zampoña." The new Leyenda's disc, the fifth one produced during their professional carrier includes these songs: “Aprendiendo”, “Te amo”, “Laura”, “Dos corazones”, “Adriana”, “No te alejes”, “Dejaré”, “Nuestro amor”, “Rosita”, “Morenada sensual”, “La abuela”, “Cuando estoy sin ti”, “Mía” y “Cueca de la esperanza”, which are interpretade in various rhythms as son, rumba, balada, rock, bolero, polka, cueca, khatu and morenada. "The song No Te Alejes, that we were recording with Monica Ergueta and with whom we were really satisfied, is included as well but in a completely different arrangement" said Carlos Luna. Ramiro Escóbar added that the whole Wednesday performance will be recorded on a film and later would be taken and shown in the Czech Republic with the purpose of introduction the Leyenda's production to this Central European nation.
PRESENCIA, La Paz, Friday, December 14, 1990 “Leyenda” in Villa San Antonio The folk group Leyenda performs on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Sub-Alcaldia theatre in Villa San Antonio on the occasion of the end of the year. The young members, well educated in rich poetic and melodic folklore of the Bolivia, introduce their own songs as “No Te Alejes”, “Perdiste Tú”, “Como Llovizna en el Mar” and others, that are included in their first LP, published this year in cooperation with a young singer-star Monica Ergueta. According to the members of the group, the name Leyenda corresponds with their inner need to express the necessity of preserving the thousands years old tradition of their music. Leyenda reflects culture of the South America, the land that is protected by the monumental Andes Mountains, the land of condors, valleys, rivers and rocks, myth, faith and legends. The members of the group are: Gerardo Luna, Ramiro Escóbar, Carlos Luna, Silvano Mariaca, Freddy Rocha, Juan Carlos Pizza.
EL DIARIO, La Paz, Sunday, June 3, 1990 Characterization of LP "Monica Ergueta sings for Bolivia" The first disc was recorded by Lyra, the member of Discolandia Company. It contains, among others, these subjects: „El amor oriental“ (taquirari), „Si me ausentara“ (cueca), „Como llovizna en el mar“ (taquirari), „Perdiste tú“, (sicuri), „Florcita del valle“ (saya), „Canción al policía“ (balada) e „Ingrata pelechuqueña“ (huayño). Artists Yuni Morales (direction and adjustments), Rolando Encinas (quena), Rafael Aris (guitar, and the Leyenda Group whose members are Carlos Luna (guitar), Silvano Mariaca (charango), Ramiro Escóbar (flutes), Freddy Rocha (flutes) and Gerardo Luna (percussions) took part on recording of the disc. Pedro Calderon was acting as the sound supervisor, and Alberto Martinez was the author of the sleeve.
